SENIOR (FALL 2004): Finished his fall season with a 4-3 record in singles and was 1-2 in doubles playing with Robert Gallman and Andrew Ulrich…Lost in the first round of the Baylor Intercollegiate Sept. 24 in Waco, Texas, to Adrian Prpic from Texas Tech…Made a run in the backdraw, winning three matches in a row…He defeated Texas-Arlington’s Alberto Agis first, 6-3, 7-6, and then took out David Kowalski of New Mexico, 7-5, 6-2…Wichita State’s Boris Gubic was next, going down by scores of 2-6, 6-4, 7-6…Barely missed knocking Luke Shields from Boise State out of the tournament, losing in a third-set tiebreaker…He and Ulrich won their opening round match versus Max Jones and Kamil Pajkowski from New Mexico, 8-6, before losing to Boise State’s Thomas Schoek and Shields, 8-2…Martin’s last tourney of the fall was the Oct. 22-25 Wilson/ITA South Central Regional Championships in Austin, Texas…Snatched a 6-3, 7-5 triumph in the first round from Tech’s Prpic…Exited on a loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Andrey Kumantsov…Martin and Gallman fell to Rice’s Rodrigo Gabriel and Hooney Shin, 9-7, in the first round of the regional.

JUNIOR (2003-04): Ended his junior season with a 19-13 record in singles and went 14-7 in dual matches…Put up a 13-5 mark at No. 6 singles…Went 21-11 in doubles play and was 18-5 at three doubles with Alex Menichini…Ended the fall campaign with a 5-6 slate in singles…Went 3-5 in doubles play with four different partners…Competed the majority of the time with Jacopo Tezza, going 1-4…Also played with Menichini, Daniel Scholten and Andrew Ulrich…Cruised by Javier Bacaicoa from No. 68 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Jan. 24 in TCU’s season opener…Won by scores of 6-2, 6-0…Posted an 8-5 victory at three doubles with Alex Menichini as well…Won easily at three doubles against Marek Dvorak and Peter Bjork from Colorado Feb. 15 by an 8-2 count…Had no trouble defeating Elliot Quibell at the No. 6 hole in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1…Provided the doubles point clincher with Menichini against ninth-ranked Texas A&M Feb. 15 at three doubles, a point that proved to be the difference in the match…The duo had to come back from 5-2 down against Mohamed Dakki and Matt Loucks to win 8-6…Downed Loucks at six singles, 6-2, 6-1, to give the Frogs their second point…Picked up another victory at three doubles with Menichini Feb. 22 versus No. 36 Florida State…Did not have as much luck in singles at the No. 5 slot, as he fell to Chris Westerhof in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2…Had no trouble beating Javier Herrera and Damar Johnson from No. 56 Louisville in doubles Feb. 29 in the championship of the Conference USA Shootout…Clinched the title for the Horned Frogs by winning a three-setter against Jakob Gustafsson at the No. 6 spot, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2…Had his match at three doubles with Chris Palmanshofer and Pete Scharler from No. 28 Washington stopped at the ASU Quad March 7…Helped TCU come back after losing the doubles point by picking up a 6-4, 6-2 victory at six over Chris Floyd…Stayed unbeaten with Menichini the next day by downing Kevin Borzenski and Richard Johnson from No. 18 Pepperdine, 8-2…Clinched the 4-0 win for the Frogs by getting rid of Johnson at six in three sets, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2…Downed Federico Soriano from No. 51 Tulsa March 13 at six singles by a 7-5, 6-2 count…Got his sixth win in a row in singles by defeating John Hoyes II from No. 31 Miami March 17 by scores of 7-6, 6-3 at the fourth position…He had to move up a couple spots from his normal position since Jacopo Tezza was out with a pulled groin and Fabrizio Sestini was suffering from tendonitis in his knee…Saw his 14-match winning streak with Menichini stopped March 25 against No. 6 Rice’s duo of Ben Harknett and Robert Searle by an 8-5 count…Took out his revenge on Harknett in singles with his eighth victory in a row…He won by scores of 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 6 slot…Recorded the Frogs’ only victory in doubles April 2 against No. 6 Duke in Durham, N.C., by upending Stephen Amritraj and Peter Rodrigues at the third spot, 8-6…Lost only one game in doubles en route to an 8-1 victory against Reid Bourgeois and Chris Rea from Southern Miss April 16 in the quarterfinals of the C-USA Championship…Won easily in singles versus Dylan Mezey at six singles, 6-0, 6-2…Picked up an 8-4 doubles triumph over Mark Kennedy and Octavian Nicodim from No. 36 Louisville in the semifinals…Got the Frogs’ first win in singles versus Jeremy Clark at six, 6-1, 6-2…Helped TCU clinch the doubles point against No. 18 Tulane with an 8-3 victory over Jacobo Hernandez and Dmitriy Koch in the C-USA title match…Fell to Alberto Sottocorno at six by scores of 6-2, 7-6…Martin and Menichini were named C-USA’s Doubles Team of the Championship for their 3-0 record…Suffered an 8-5 loss at the hands of Fernando Fiuri and Felix Insauralde from No. 67 East Tennessee State May 15 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament…Was leading 3-2 in the third set of his singles match with Insauralde at six when TCU picked up the win…Came back from a 6-3 deficit to Nate Emge and Tigran Martirosyan from No. 11 Kentucky in the second round the following day and emerged victorious by a 9-8 score…Clinched the win for TCU at six singles by defeating Alex Hume in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 7-5…His win allowed the Frogs to reach the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2001.

SOPHOMORE (2002-03): Posted a 5-2 record in the fall for the Horned Frogs and went 17-8 overall…Had a strong start in September, as he won the Flight B singles at the adidas Invitational in Peachtree City, Ga…Defeated two competitors from Duke in the first couple of rounds…Stefan Rozycki fell in three to Martin, while Chris Brown was a straight-set victim…Knocked off Tennessee’s Vince Perna in the semis…Was forced to take on teammate Daniel Scholten in the championship match, which Martin claimed in three sets, 4-6, 7-5, 6-2…In doubles play, Martin finished with an overall record of 13-13…Played primarily with Rafael Abreu during the spring at No. 3 singles…Went 10-7 at the position with Abreu…Played one match at the top slot with Fabrizio Sestini…Also saw action with Alex Menichini…Used the Rice Indoors as a warm-up for the dual match season…Went 2-2 at the tournament, snagging victories against Cameron Fenner from Texas A&M, 6-2, 6-3, and Scott Green of Ohio State, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2…Posted a 10-4 record in dual matches, playing the Nos. 4-6 positions…Went 2-2 at four, 5-2 at No. 5 and 3-0 at the sixth slot…His first two triumphs came at six singles versus Taylor Curran of Saint Louis Jan. 24 and Ian Vazquez from Texas-Arlington Jan. 29…Martin was a straight-set winner in both contests…His next two matches against Ed Cooper of East Carolina and Louisville’s Johnny Berrido at the Conference USA Shootout were suspended after TCU clinched the victories…Helped the Horned Frogs nearly upset No. 7-ranked Duke March 8 by downing Peter Shults at the fifth spot by counts of 7-5, 6-3…Suffered his first setback March 13 to Eric Hechtman of Miami at five singles, 6-1, 6-3…Recovered by going on a three-match winning streak…It started with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Carlo Contente of Wichita State March 20 at the No. 5 hole…Against cross-town rival SMU March 26, Martin picked up his first career victory versus a ranked opponent by dispatching No. 52 Gwinyai Chingoka at four singles, 6-3, 7-6…Three days later, Aleksander Charpantidis of Tulsa felt Martin’s wrath and went down in straights, 6-4, 6-2…Failed to register another win against a ranked opponent when he faced off with 88th-rated Benjamin Becker from Baylor April 2 at four singles…Martin was defeated 7-5, 6-3…Was taken down in his next outing as well with Texas A&Mer Khaled El Dorry April 6 in 6-4, 6-2 fashion…Came back strong with another three-match unbeaten stretch…Matthias Mathaes from Rice gave Martin the initial victory April 9 at five singles, 6-2, 6-1…SMU’s Peter Oredsson, playing the No. 5 slot, kept it interesting but lost 6-4, 7-6…Helped TCU move on to the semifinals of the C-USA Championship by upending Patrick Suhrbier from UAB April 17 in Waukesh, Wis., by a score of 6-4, 6-0…Did not finish his tussle with Juan Barragan from USF in the semis…Fell to Jorge Lievano of Tulane in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-1…Tulane defeated TCU, 4-2, to win the conference tourney…Picked up a triumph May 9 in the first round of the NCAA Regionals in Waco, Texas, versus SMU’s Oredsson at six singles, 6-3, 6-3…Was unable to conclude his contest with Barry McLaren of Baylor in the subsequent round, as the Bears had already clinched a 4-0 win.

FRESHMAN (2001-02): Went 4-4 for the Horned Frogs during the fall season…Competed in four tournaments (HEB Baylor Intercollegiate, ITA All-American Championships, Midland Open and ITA South Central Regional Championships)…Established a pattern by winning his first match at each tourney and then losing the ensuing contest…Played doubles with seven different Horned Frogs…His two primary partners were Daniel Wajnberg and Alex Menichini…He went 6-9 with Wajnberg and 2-5 with Menichini…Played all three positions in dual matches, going 1-6 at one, 1-4 at two and 3-5 at the No. 3 slot…Martin was 5-15 in duals and 5-5 in tournament play for a combined doubles record of 10-20…At the Rice Indoors in January, Martin almost stunned No. 26 Travis Parrott of Portland, losing in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3…Lost his consolation match with Michael Domanski from Texas, 6-4, 6-1…Claimed victory in his first three dual matches, all of which were at five singles…Took out SMU’s Ryan Mauck Jan. 30 in the season opener, 2-6, 7-6, 6-1…Needed three sets to defeat Chris McRae from Alabama Feb. 2…Won by scores of 7-6, 5-7, 6-1…Snatched a straight-set victory Feb. 13, 6-3, 6-4, over Alon Goldshuv in a 5-2 TCU victory over Texas-Arlington…Suffered his first career dual loss at Tulsa Feb. 16 when he fell to Shri Sudhakara at six singles, 6-7, 6-3, 6-3…Bounced back with a dominant victory against Charlotte’s Jonathan Clark Feb. 22 at the Conference USA Shootout, 6-0, 6-2…It was his first triumph at the No. 6 slot…Was instrumental in the Horned Frogs’ 4-2 triumph over Tulane Feb. 23…Martin downed Hannu Piiroinen at five singles, 6-7, 6-3, 7-5, to give TCU its third point of the match…Suffered a heartbreaking loss at the No. 6 slot versus Evan Fowler of South Alabama Feb. 25, losing in two consecutive tiebreakers…The contest was tied up at three apiece at the time…Regained his confidence with a 6-3, 6-3 conquest of Allen Simmons from Furman March 1 at No. 6 singles…Martin needed three sets to win his next match-up with Miami Tarik El Bassiouni, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3…Fell in straight sets at the fifth position to Reiner Neurohr of Baylor March 14 in Waco, Texas, by scores of 6-3, 7-5…Rebounded with another victory in three stanzas against Bucky Mink from Colorado March 18, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4…Had one of his most impressive performances when the Frogs defeated Washington March 23 at the Pepperdine Shootout…Martin disposed of Ari Strasberg at the No. 4 slot, 6-2, 7-5…Suffered a 6-2, 6-4 setback at the hands of No. 92 Ante Matijevic of Texas A&M March 27…The loss marked the beginning of four straight losses for Martin…Duke’s Yorke Allen dished out a similar score to Martin in Durham, N.C., April 6…The next day, Virginia Commonwealth’s Fernando Sanchez upended Martin at the No. 5 hole in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1…After getting knocked off by Lucasz Senczyszyn from SMU April 10 in Dallas, Martin was used strictly as a doubles specialist.

HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR: Was a member of the under-14, -16 and –18 championship teams in Catalonia…Was also the Catalonia under-21 doubles champion…Earned one ATP Tour point…Participated in the third round of team competition at the Spanish Under-14 Championships.
