JUNIOR (2002-03): Had the most productive fall of any Horned Frog, fashioning a 13-5 record…His top performance came at the Icy Hot/ITA All-American Championships…He won four matches in pre-qualifying and then a pair in the qualifying rounds to reach the main draw…Defeated BYU’s Erik Nyman in three sets, 1-6, 6-3, 6-0, to earn a spot in the main draw…Lost in the round of 64 to Michael Calkins of eventual undefeated national champion Illinois in straights, 7-6, 6-3…Was forced to step up higher in the lineup during the spring, serving as TCU’s primary No. 1 for a vast majority of the season…Saw some action at the No. 2 slot…Finished 9-10 at one singles and 2-1 at No. 2 for a 11-11 dual slate…Won his first match of the dual match season against Figueredo Moris of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi by scores of 6-3, 6-2…Fell at one singles in his next two outings with players from Saint Louis and Washington Jan. 24 and Feb. 1…His match with SLU’s Ikaika Jobe went three sets…Was downed 6-4, 6-1 by the Huskies’ Matt Hanlin, who was ranked No. 11 at the time…Snatched another win at the No. 2 slot on Groundhog Day by defeating Pim Van Mele of Arizona State, 7-6, 6-3…Squared off with two straight opponents ranked in the top-50 when the Frogs made a tough West Coast swing Feb. 8 and 10 against Stanford and California…Stanford’s Scott Lipsky, ranked 46th, upended Menichini 6-2, 6-4 at two, while No. 37 Balazs Veress squeezed out a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 decision at the top spot…Menichini was inserted into the No. 1 slot for the remainder of the year beginning with the match against Veress…Grabbed his first career win at No. 1 singles Feb. 17 when he dispatched of Clinton Jacobs from South Alabama, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2…After a two-week layoff, Menichini won his second match in a row at the top spot by sending home ECU’s Charl Meyer with a 6-2, 6-4 loss at the Conference USA Shootout, hosted by TCU…Hit a rough three-match stretch from March 2-13…His last two losses came to players rated in the top-25…The first was No. 7 Phillip King from Duke March 8 by a 7-6, 6-3 count…On March 13, No. 18 Todd Widom of Miami downed Menichini, 6-3, 6-4…Bounced back to win his next five contests from March 15–April 2…Wisconsin’s Alex Kasarov got the streak started for him, falling 6-0, 6-1…Next up was Marko Despot of Wichita State, who was defeated 7-5, 7-6 March 20…Knocked off No. 87 Lukasz Senczyszn from cross-town rival SMU, 6-3, 4-6, (10-8), March 26…Another nationally tabbed foe, No. 45 Alejandro Tejerina from Tulsa, fell to Menichini March 29 in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, (10-7)…Battled out another three-setter April 2 with Baylor’s 31st-rated Matias Marin, 4-6, 7-6, (10-5)…Ryan Newport, who was tabbed No. 20 from Texas A&M, ended Menichini’s unbeaten streak April 6 by a 6-1, 7-5 count…In the Frogs’ second match of the year against SMU, he was beaten by Gwinyai Chingoka in two tiebreakers…Helped the Horned Frogs advance to the final of the C-USA Tournament by downing Uli Kiendl from USF in the semis April 18, 6-4, 6-4…Fell in his final contest of the year to No. 41 Benjamin Becker of Baylor in straight sets May 10 in the second round of the NCAA Regionals in Waco by scores of 7-5, 6-0…Penciled his name in the final rankings for the year at No. 77…Tied for the most doubles victories on the team thanks to a 16-13 record…Played with three different partners, Daniel Scholten, Jacob Martin and Fabrizio Sestini…Scholten served as his primary partner…Went 4-3 at one doubles with Scholten and Sestini…Posted an 8-6 mark at two with Scholten and was 1-0 at three with the German…Finished 12-10 overall in dual matches…Nabbed first-team All-Conference USA honors following the season.

SOPHOMORE (2001-02):Menichini sat out the fall before transferring from Fresno State in the spring…Concluded his first season at TCU with a 12-9 record in singles…Saw most of his action in singles at the Nos. 3 and 4 spots…Was 4-3 at three and 5-5 at four singles…Was a stronger competitor in outdoor play with a 10-6 singles mark…If Menichini won the first set it was almost a guaranteed win, as he was 10-1 when doing so…Was solid in tiebreakers with a 5-2 mark and also finished 3-1 in three-set contests…Posted his first victory for the Purple and White at the Rice Indoors Jan. 18 with a 7-6, 6-1 triumph over José Hernan of Nebraska…Hit a three-match losing skid after that point…Recovered to win eight of his next nine matches…Included in that stretch was a seven-match unbeaten streak…Tom Zarzeczny of Texas-Arlington provided Menichini with his first conquest in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4…Experienced a slight hiccup in his next match with Tulsa’s Ale Tejerina, falling 6-1, 6-3…Got things rolling with a pair of dominant performances at the C-USA Shootout over Feb. 22-23…Menichini’s first victim was David Bolin of Charlotte, 6-2, 6-0, followed the day next by Tulane’s Jorge Lievano, 6-2, 6-4…Grinded out a three-set match with South Alabama’s Clinton Jacobs, 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, in a tough 4-3 Horned Frog loss Feb. 25…His next two victories came in straight-set fashion over opponents from Furman and Miami (Fla.), both of which were Horned Frog wins…In his next outing, Menichini recorded the most impressive victory of his career at the time, defeating his first ranked foe, Markus Hornung of Baylor in Waco March 14…He defeated the nation’s No. 42-ranked contender 6-7, 6-4, 7-6, despite being heckled by a hostile crowd sitting directly behind his court…Menichini’s victory avoided a Baylor sweep of TCU as well…A week following the match, Menichini earned his first career ranking coming in at No. 99…At the Pepperdine Shootout, Menichini was the deciding factor in TCU’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Washington…He was down a set and 5-1 in the second and managed to come and win the match 7-6, 6-1 against Christoph Palmanshofer at No. 3 singles…The end of the season was a touch stretch for Californian…He played several matches at three singles and still managed to piece together a 4-3 record at that spot…Did not factor into TCU’s 4-0 loss to Pepperdine the day after the Washington match…Came out on the short end of a 6-3, 6-3 decision to No. 104 Lester Cook of 10th-rated Texas A&M March 27…Bounced back with a victory versus Fabian Giraud from Rice at the No. 3 hole March 30, 6-4, 6-3…Did not get the chance to finish his match with No. 123 Jason Zimmerman of Duke April 6 in Durham, N.C…The same thing happened to him in Richmond, Va., the following day when the Frogs took on VCU…SMU’s Gwinyai Chingoka took out Menichini April 10 by a 7-6, 6-3 count at three singles…Recorded back-to-back wins April 14 and 19…His first was a 7-5, 6-3 decision over Eduardo Pacheco of Arkansas, a team that entered the match ranked among the top-25…The 5-2 TCU triumph gave the Horned Frogs their second win of the year over a squad from the Southeastern Conference, arguably the nation’s most elite tennis league…In the first round of the C-USA Tournament, Menichini helped the Purple and White’s cause with a 6-2, 7-6 victory over David Canudas of Southern Miss…Finished 10-13 in doubles…Saw time at all three positions in doubles with numerous partners…Was 1-4 at one, 4-6 at No. 2 and 5-2 at three doubles…His strongest play came at three doubles where he finished 5-2…Was 10-12 overall in dual doubles matches…Teaming with Daniel Scholten proved to be a good move, as the pair was 6-2 in duals…They opened play together with four consecutive wins over duos from Texas-Arlington, Tulsa, Charlotte and Tulane.

*FRESHMAN (2000-01): Posted an overall singles record of 23-12 in his first and only year with Fresno State…Went 4-4 during the fall tourney season…Snagged his first career victory Sept. 29 versus Anthony Barker of Hampton in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5…Also recorded wins over Matt Turner (Tennessee), Nick Tracy (Cal State Poly) and Reven Stephens (Kentucky)…Spent the majority of the spring at No. 5 singles, where he was 13-6…Played as high as three during the year…Was 19-8 overall in duals…Ran off five consecutive wins in dual match singles contests…His first was a 7-5, 6-4 decision over Nick Carless of Cal State Poly Feb. 4 at four singles…California’s Ben Miles was his next victim at No. 6 by a 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 count…Knocked off another Pac-10 opponent in Southern California’s Parker Collins, 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 6 slot…Won his next match at three singles against Jorge Haro of Texas in a marathon, come-from-behind three-setter, 1-6, 6-4, 7-5…Shriranga Sudhakara of Tulsa provided Menichini with another mark in the victory column March 1 at the three-spot by scores of 6-1, 6-7, 6-4…Suffered his first career setbacks in duals when the Bulldogs matched up with Baylor for a doubleheader March 3…Bounced back with a 7-6, 6-0 triumph over Mike Placek of Santa Barbara at five singles March 10…Snared another win at the No. 5 hole, 6-0, 5-7, 7-5, over Ryan Edlefson of Northwestern March 15…Notched a pair of back-to-back straight-set victories at five singles over Bryan Endress-Fox and Alex Barragan of Drake and Kansas March 20 and 22…After a heart-wrenching three-set loss to Steve Racioppi of national-power Pepperdine March 24, Menichini responded with a tough, 7-6, 1-6, 6-1, conquest of Anthony Barker of Harvard March 27…Two days later, he downed Oregon’s Jason Menke, 6-4, 6-3…Reeled off six straight wins over March 31-April 26, five of which were in straight sets…Jit Shah of South Florida supplied Menichini with his first challenge, which ended in a 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 win…From there, straight-set victories at five singles over opponents from Boise State, Santa Clara, Pacific, Hawai’i and SMU ensued…The last two aided Fresno State in reaching the championship match of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament against TCU…Registered a win at No. 5 versus Trent Brendon of Wake Forest, 6-0, 6-3, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament…Was 14-17 overall in doubles…Played all but one dual match at No. 3 doubles…Teamed primarily with Alex Krohn and saw limited action with David Mullins and Nick Fustar…Penciled in an 11-11 showing at the No. 3 hole in doubles…Put together a six-match unbeaten streak in doubles with Krohn over March 17-27

HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR: Was a three-year letterwinner at Calabasas High School…Named the squad’s Most Valuable Player all three seasons…Earned Frontier League champion honors one year…Ranked in the top-50 in the United States in the 18s…Was the Section 14 backdraw winner in singles, while snagging the doubles title as well.
