JUNIOR (FALL 2005): Andrew Ulrich finished the fall season with a record of 5-3 in singles play...Posted a 2-1 record at the Baylor Invitational on Sept. 30...Knocked off Patrick Russ of Centenary (6-3, 6-2) in the opening round of the ITA Regionals...Finished with two singles wins at the Bose International Indoor Championships in Santa Fe, N.M., Oct. 28-30...Defeated Drew Gaffney in the first round of the Bose Championships (6-2, 6-1)...Faired well in doubles play, completing fall competition with a record of 6-2 while pairing with senior Craig "Big Daddy" Stopa...Scored a win over Niels Buksik and Manuel Gonzalez (9-7) at the ITA Regionals...Defated the team of Jason Bisanti and Mark Knutila of Colorado-Colorado Springs (8-2) at the Bose Championships...Posted second doubles win of the tournament with an 8-6 decision over Sean Voorhies and Josh Johnson of UCCS. FRESHMAN (2003-04): A walk-on from nearby Wichita Falls, Texas, Ulrich saw a great deal of action during the fall in his first year as a Horned Frog...Played his first collegiate match Sept. 26 against Robert Kirchner of Texas-San Antonio at the Baylor Intercollegiate...Ulrich dropped the match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3...Won his first contest the following day in consolation play, defeating Jake Frederick of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 6-0, 6-1...Bowed out of the tournament with a 7-5, 6-3 loss to Texas-Arlington's Petri Van Rensburg...Snagged a victory in his next match versus Niels Buksik of UTA, 6-4, 6-0, at the UTA Fall Invitational Oct. 3...Hit a tough stretch after that, dropping two consecutive matches against competitors from Texas-Pan American and Oklahoma...Got back on track with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph over Lamar's Naeem Kath in the first round of the ITA South Central Regional Championships Oct. 24...Was downed by Texas A&M's No. 33-rated Ante Matijevic, who reached the final of the tourney, in the next round by a 6-2, 6-0 count...Grabbed consecutive wins in the consolation round of the singles draw, defeating A&M's Dash Connell, 6-4, 7-5, and UTAer Josey Trimmier, 6-1, 2-6, (10-8)...Lost a heartbreaker in the consolation round of 16 against Rodrigo Gabriel of Rice, falling in a third-set super tiebreaker, 10-8...Ulrich's final tournament of the fall was the Texas A&M Invitational over Nov. 7-9 in College Station, Texas...He lost both of his matches to Danny Bryan (LSU) and John Nallon (Texas A&M)...Concluded the fall with a 5-8 record in singles...Posted a 2-6 slate in doubles, playing primarily with fellow classmate Robert Gallman...Also teamed with Collin Hart and Jacob Martin...Ulrich and Gallman's two wins came against duos from Louisiana-Lafayette and Texas-Pan American at the ITA South Central Regional Championships...Did not compete during the spring...Named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll (3.0 GPA or above) and was an ITA All-Academic Team member for maintaining at least a 3.5 GPA.
