2001 Fall • 2002 Outlook: Freshman Ivonne Andrade stepped into the fire when she arrived at TCU this fall. Due to injury, she did not compete in the C-USA Individual Championships, so she’ll be anxious to get the spring season underway.
Andrade earned a 3-4 singles record in her first fall as a Frog. She picked up wins over Rebekah Thomas (Baylor) at the TCU Invitational (7-6, 6-3), Wilander of Georgia Southern at the Lady Seminole Classic (6-1, 6-4) and Melissa Vujovich of Louisiana-Monroe during the Omni Hotels Southwest Championships (6-2, 6-4). She and doubles partner Brenna Shackelford notched a 3-2 record in their first season together. They topped the duos of Stephen/Thomas (Baylor), Lahy/Rambally (SMU) and Bomer/Rettenmaier (North Texas) during the fall.
