JUNIOR YEAR (Fall 2006): Zarco posted a 3-3 singles mark and a 1-2 doubles record, playing with Tiago Gilioli, for a 4-5 overall win-loss total in a shortened fall season to open his third year at Tech. In the spring season Borja played mostly at the number 1 and 2 positions in the singles line up, posting an overall record of 15-13, 7-2 in the OVC. Zarco and teammate Gilioli had a stellar performance, with an OVC doubles record of 5-3 and an overall record of 8-10, in the number 1 position
SOPHOMORE YEAR (2005-06): Borja compiled an overall record of 37 wins and 21 losses in 2005-06, including a season ending loss to Roger Gubser of Texas in the team’s NCAA regional appearance. He went 22-11 in singles play and 15-10 in doubles action for the year, en route to an OVC tournament title and subsequent participation in NCAA Regional competition. Zarco was named to the 2006 OVC all-conference first-team roster and was awarded the team MVP award
FRESHMAN YEAR (2004-05): Zarco went 15-26 overall in his first year as a Golden Eagle. He notched a 9-10 singles record and a 6-16 mark in doubles action
BEFORE TECH: Zarco attended IES Giner de los Rios (high school)
PERSONAL: Borja Zarco Sanchez is the son of Antonio Sanchez and Cristina Zarco of Madrid, Spain… birthday is June 18, 1986… majoring in civil engineering.
