James returns to the Golden Eagle roster in 2010-11...played for the Golden Eagles during the 2008-09 season but was not on the squad last season. AT TECH -- In Fall 2010 (Junior): James returned to Tech this season and started off his Junior year with a bang. He proved to be strong in both singles and doubles. Paired with a few teammates throughout the fall season, James showed most success in doubles with a 7-4 record. His best record was with teammate, Lloyd Harris, with a 3-0 record. The two have been teamed on and off together since their freshman debut together in 2007. Their biggest accomplishment together was the third-flight doubles championship at the UTC Fall Classic. While teaming with Josh Girling, the two won their first two rounds together at the Indiana Invitational.Their clinched an overall record of 3-3. James had a 1-1 record with Freshman, Joseph Proctor where the two gained a win over West Alabama in the Crimson Tide Invitational. In singles play, James wrapped up the fall season with a 4-6 record. James was most prominent at the Crimson Tide Invitational where he earned a first round victory over Radford, 6-0, 6-1. He also picked up consolation wins at the Elon Invitational and the UTC Fall Classic. James proves he can be a major contributer in the lineup in the upcoming spring season. In 2009-10: James was not enrolled on the Tennessee Tech men's team.
In 2008-09 (Sophomore): James played a strong role in doubles as he helpd Tech claim the OVC regular season title...playing primarily at six singles and three doubles, he collected four singles wins and nine doubles wins...played number two doubles against Jacksonville State in the OVC tournament.
IN 2007-08 (Freshman): James played a strong role in doubles as he helpd Tech claim the OVC regular season title...playing primarily at six singles and three doubles, he collected four singles wins and nine doubles wins...played number two doubles against Jacksonville State in the OVC tournament.
BEFORE TECH: James was coached by Julian Godfrey...in addition to his No. 4 ranking in Hampshire, he has won the Bristol Open U18 singles championship, the Hastings Open U18 singles and mixed doubles championship, and the Winchester men's doubles championship...he has been the captain of the Winchester National Junior Club League for the past four years, and has led the team to reach the Last Eight in the nation.
PERSONAL: James Alexander Crawford is the son of Richard and Kathryn Crawford of Winchester, England...attended Owens Road School in Winchester, and also studied at Peter Symonds College...major is business.
