TOPSPIN: Luis is a talented player who has yet to scratch the surface of his ability...has a strong upper body...very consistent player...should challenge once again for a spot in the top of the Tech lineup...has great groundstrokes and very accurate from both sides...hits with a heavy topspin...powerful serve and can kick it out wide when needed...good quickness on the court and is never out of a point because he can run shots down...comfortable banging the ball from the baseline, but has the touch to play at the net...plays very aggressively on the court...competitive and plays with a "never-say-die" attitude...worked hard this past summer to improve his volleying...will play singles and doubles...strong doubles player...communicates well with doubles partner...future with Tech looks bright.
AT TECH: (2001-2002) - Was disappointing in singles play, posting only a 12-13 record against some of the toughest competition...started season slow, losing 11 of his first 14 matches...made big turnaround and won 10 of his last 12 contests...won nine in a row towards the end of the season  with victories over Calvin Valladores of New Mexico Military Institute and Aki Gido of Morehead State...improved his doubles play...posted a 13-10 doubles record with the majority of wins coming with teammate Simon Tremblay...Aguerrevere and Tremblay began the season 2-7 before turning things around...named all-Ohio Valley Conference...(2000-2001) - Luis made the most of his first season with the Golden Eagles, earning all-Ohio Valley Conference honors...closed out the season with 15 singles victories, good enough for second on the team...captured a team-high 11 doubles victories in 18 matches...started season slow, losing three of his first five matches...followed that with three consecutive victories, including a win over Florida State’s Chad Mooney...struggled with his serve midway through the season and dropped his record to 7-8...however, he rallied with eight straight wins to close out the season...played doubles with three different partners, having more success with fellow freshman Jorge Ascencio (11-4)...Aguerrevere and Ascencio won their final 10 matches after starting out 1-4.
HIGH SCHOOL: Luis had a stellar high school career...has national and international experience...was the number two junior player in Venezuela...he has also played on the Cosat Tour before coming to Tech.
