Michael Meyer
A three-year team captain at UC San Diego, Michael Meyer reunites with former mentor Eric Steidlmayer, entering his first year as an Aggie assistant coach in 2012.
Meyer played for Steidlmayer from 1999 to 2003, playing either No. 1 or No. 2 singles and doubles all four years. As a freshman, he was selected as the ITA West Region Rookie of the Year and competed at the NCAA Division III Individual Championships. He also captured the NCAA's Arthur Ashe, Jr. Leadership and Sportsmanship award as a senior.
Following his Triton career, Meyer played in professional tournaments throughout France during the summer of 2003. He returned to the U.S. later that year and entered the business sector, most recently serving as a vice president for a public finance investment banking firm based in San Francisco.
Meyer has continued to play and teach tennis during his business career, captaining 5.5 and 6.0 teams to the USTA Nationals from 2006 to 2009. In 2008, Meyer paired with Cal Aggie Athletics Hall of Famer Greg Lee in several tournaments and secured the No. 3 doubles ranking in Northern California.
Meyer earned his bachelor's degree in management science from UCSD in 2003.
