AS A SENIOR IN 2008:  Eric's fall contained a tremendous result.  Again teaming with Blake Meister, they won the Western Regional ITA title, and then went on to win the ITA National Doubles title.  If that were not enough, the duo went on to with the Super Bowl and qualified for the ITA Division I National Indoors.  A tremendous result, and the first National Title for Men's Tennis in Division II.  AS A JUNIOR IN 2007:  Had a fine junior year, playing singles at both the #1 & #2 spots, sharing time with Bijan Moallemi, having a total record of 14-10.  In doubles play, Eric had even a better year, teaming with fellow junior Blake Meister, going 19-4 on the season, finishing #4 in the country, and gaining ALL-AMERICAN status.  Just a tremendous year for the both of them. AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: FRESHMAN IN 2005: Compiled a record of 7-6 in singles action during his first year on the UCSD campus... went 5-4 from the No. 3 spot and 2-2 from the No. 4 spot... compiled a 7-2 doubles record, while playing all nine matches with former Triton Bryan Swatt in the No. 2 spot on the ladder. HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of nearby La Jolla High School... compiled a 203-17 overall record... led team to four straight CIF titles while going undefeated in league play during his entire four-year high school career... reached the semifinals in the Easter Bowl doubles section and advanced to the round of 16 in the Clay Court Nationals. PERSONAL: Born September 2, 1986... parents are Paul and Diana Rubens... has one younger sister named Allison... Paul and Diane both attended SDSU, where Paul was part of the tennis team and Diana was a member of the gymnastics squad... is an Electrical Engineering major at Eleanor Roosevelt College...enjoys movies, board sports, and going to concerts and the beach in his free time. Went 13-9 overall in singles competition... spent most of the season at the No. 2 spot on the ladder where he compiled a 12-6 record... was 1-1 at the No. 3 and 0-2 at the No. 4 positions... partnered with Brent Molden and Kazumi Negishi during the season en route to an overall record of 15-8 in doubles play... was at the No. 1 spot on the ladder in doubles competition with Molden for six matches... was 2-0 at the No. 2 spot and 13-2 at the No. 3 spot with Negishi.
