Jordie Kindervater
Jordie Kindervater was named UCF's assistant coach in August 2012. He joined the Knights' staff after three campaigns as an assistant at Buffalo. In 2012, Kindervater helped the Bulls claim the Mid-American Conference regular-season title. Three Buffalo players earned All-MAC honors and Damien David was selected as the ITA Northeast Region of the Year.
A successful student-athlete, Kindervater was a four-year letterwinner and three-year captain at Alabama. Following his graduation from Alabama, Kindervater served as the tennis coach at the Indian Hills Country Club in Tuscaloosa and the head boys and girls tennis coach at the Tuscaloosa Academy, coaching the boys to a second place finish in the state. At Indian Hills, Kindervater coached junior and senior players on a daily basis and taught private lessons along with conducting group clinics.
While at Alabama, Kindervater served as team captain from his sophomore season on, helping lead the Crimson Tide to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2007 and a top ten national ranking in 2008. He was extremely active off the court as he was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, earning him a spot on the SEC"Good Works Team" in 2007 and 2008. Kindervater was also the 2006 recipient of the Tommy Williams Scholarship, which is based on excellence in academics and athletics at the university level.
A native of St. John's, Newfoundland, Kindervater was ranked as one the top eight singles players and top five doubles players in Canada and was a five-time Atlantic Canadian Junior Champion.
Kindervater graduated from Alabama in December of 2008 with a bachelor's of science in consumer affairs.
