She helped Pacific Coast High School win a state championship.Lauren spent her junior career ranked in the Top 20 while playing at Pacific Coast High School in California. She is the highest nationally-ranked American player to ever sign with the Cardinals. After sitting out the first part of the dual season due to injury, Lauren recorded a 6-7 dual singles record, playing exclusively at No. 1 singles. She recorded wins over Missouri, Kansas and Marquette. In doubles play, she recorded a 6-8 mark at No. 1. She and Robyn White had a 6-7 record with wins over Cincinnati and Syracuse in doubles. She also paired with Jo-Ann Van Aerde in a loss against Virginia Tech. In the fall of 2006, Lauren went 1-2 in her collegiate debut. She beat Anya Dzera of Purdue in the round of 16 at the Illini Classic in Champaign. In doubles, she paired with Robyn White to go 6-2 and won the doubles bracket at the Illini Invitational.
