 Scott Langs

Scott Langs begins his first season as assistant coach for the men's and women's tennis programs.

"I am excited about the opportunity to assist Brenda Vlasak in continuing to build a strong tennis program," Langs said.

Langs is currently the Director of Tennis at the Fort Collins Country Club, where he has spent the last nine years. He is also a tennis professional at Miramont Sport Center in Fort Collins.

"We are lucky to have someone like Scott, who has great experience, knowledge and passion for the game of tennis," said head tennis coach Brenda Vlasak. "He will help the athletes to be successful. The men's team will especially look for him to play an important leadership role."

Langs, who has over 25 years of coaching experience, began coaching while in high school. Originally from Michigan, Langs was the 1982 high school state champion in No. 1 singles.

His family - mother Karen, father Russell and sister Kelly - was named the 2005 Tennis Family of the Year for the northern Michigan district.

Langs spent his college days at Ohio University, where he won three conference titles. After finishing his collegiate career, he played professionally in the United States, Australia and Europe.
