NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team travels to Marquette Tuesday for a 9 a.m. (CT) BIG EAST conference match at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.

The No. 16 Irish (11-7) look to snap a two-match skid after dropping a heartbreaking 4-3 decision at No. 29 Tulsa Saturday. Freshman Quinn Gleason improved her season singles record to 14-3 against the Golden Hurricane, sweeping Michelle Farley in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) at No. 3 singles. Senior Chrissie McGaffigan improved her singles mark to 12-5 with a win at the fourth court over Saana Saarteinen, 6-2, 7-6 (11-9).

Marquette (10-9) has dropped six of its last seven matches overall, falling to South Florida 6-1 on Saturday at the USF Tennis Courts in Tampa, Fla. The Golden Eagles are 0-3 this season against BIG EAST opponents.

Notre Dame is 16-1 all-time against Marquette, including a perfect 12-0 under head coach Jay Louderback. The Golden Eagles have not defeated the Irish in a dual contest since January 19, 1989 (5-4 at Marquette). Notre Dame claimed a 7-0 shutout over Marquette on March 25, 2012 at the Courtney Tennis Center.
