Blair returns to the Toreros as an assistant coach for the 2005-2006 season.  Blair was a four-year Torero for the men's program and this past season finished 16-5 in singles, with most of his playing time coming at the No. 4 spot where he earned an overall record of 12-1.  He teamed up with Thomas Liversage in doubles for a 15-8 mark and, for their efforts, Blair and Liversage were named the WCC Doubles Team of the Month for the month of March.

As a junior Blair reached the Round of 32 in the ITA Western Championships.  He finished the season with a 10-6 record in singles and was named a West Coast Conference Honorable Mention in the singles bracket.  During his sophomore season, Blair's 14 victories tied him with two other Toreros as the most on the squad.  He was named to the All-WCC Honorable Mention Singles team.

Prior to attending USD, Blair was the No. 1 player in South Africa and ranked as high as No. 60 in the world as junior player.  He reached the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon and Australian junior events in doubles and represented South Africa in the World Cup in U-14, U-16, and U-18 divisions.

"I am ecstatic to have Robbie Blair continue as a Torero," said head coach Tom Hagedorn. "To have a player of his caliber will only help the program. Robbie has helped our team move up the rankings the last four years as a player and he will continue to do so as the assistant coach. Robbie has a work ethic that is second to none."
