Trojans Set Up For Season's First Action At ITA All-American
Saturday, 09/28/2013

The USC men's tennis team had a full load of Trojans shoving off for Tulsa this week for action at the ITA Men's All-American Championships. Qualifying play kicks off on Sept. 30 for players looking to earn a place in the Main Draw, which runs Oct. 3-6.

USC has four Trojans locked in for qualifying competition in the singles scene. No. 58 Eric Johnson, No. 63 Jonny Wang, No. 80 Michael Grant and Max de Vroome all have their eyes set on a winning start to 2013-14 in order to join three of their fellow Trojans in the singles main draw. No. 8 Ray Sarmiento, No. 18 Yannick Hanfmann and No. 25 Roberto Quiroz are locked in for main draw singles starting up on Oct. 3. Sarmiento, now a senior for the Trojans, reached the 2012 ITA All-American singles quarterfinals last season.

In the doubles realm, USC has de Vroome and Wang in the mix for qualifying action, with Hanfmann and Johnson -- who open the season ranked No. 34 in the nation -- inked as alternates for the main draw.
