THIS SEASON:
Daniel Langre enters his redshirt senior season at USC... Posted a 4-3 singles record in the fall, competing at the ITA West Regional and SCTA Championship... He and Parker Collins reached the doubles semifinals at the SCTA Championships.
2003:
Langre played at No. 2 and 3 singles and No. 2 and 3 doubles in 2003 with various doubles partners... Named 2003 All-Pac-10 honorable mention... Selected to compete at the NCAA Doubles Championships with Prakash Amritraj... Langre actually finished the year with two doubles rankings, finishing at No. 35 in the ITA doubles rankings with Amritraj and No. 42 in the ITA doubles rankings with Parker Collins... Compiled a 17-13 overall singles record, a 14-8 mark in dual matches and 3-4 record in the Pac-10... Went 30-11 overall in doubles, paired with Amritraj (8-5), Johan Berg (7-2), Collins (11-1) and Ruben Torres (4-3)... Finished with the team’s best individual overall doubles record and win percentage (.750)... With Amritraj, the pair captured the 2003 Sherwood Collegiate Cup doubles title in January... Collins and Langre dropped only one match during the regular season and topped off the year by winning the Pac-10 Doubles Tournament in April... The pair became the first USC duo to win the event since 1995... Despite USC’s team loss to UCLA in the NCAA Second Round, Collins and Langre finished their year with a upset-victory over the Bruins’ Tobias Clemens and Lassi Ketola at No. 2 doubles... The duo also won their final nine consecutive matches... Compiled a 3-3 singles record in fall tournaments... Advanced to the Round of 16 at the ITA Omni Regional Championships... Named to the 2003 Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention team... A 2003 Marks Scholar-Athlete.
2002:
Langre, along with his teammates, enjoyed much success in 2002 as he helped lead the Trojans to the NCAA Championship ... Playing mainly at the No. 5 position, he compiled a 22-15 overall record and a 19-10 mark in dual matches ... Langre went 14-7 at the No. 5 spot, 3-2 at No. 4 and 2-1 at No. 6 ... In the fall, he advanced to the quarterfinals of the SCTA Championship ... With a 16-15 singles record in the regular season, Langre was at his best in the postseason ... He won all six NCAA Tournament matches en route to the Trojans’ title and was honored to the NCAA All-Tournament team at the No. 5 position ... In doubles he collected a 16-4 record with Prakash Amritraj, a 5-6 mark with Damien Spizzo and a 1-0 record with Ruben Torres ... Langre and Amritraj earned NCAA All-Tournament honors at No. 3 doubles after defeating Tennessee’s Mark Dietrich and Andy Crews and Georgia’s Nicolas Boeker and Lesley Joseph in the semifinals and finals ... The pair finished with the team’s best doubles winning percentage (.800).
2001:
Langre redshirted during the 2001 season ... Competed at the SCTA Championships and Rolex Regionals in the fall, advancing to the second round and quarterfinals, respectively ... Underwent surgery on a torn ligament in his left knee on Jan. 4.
2000:
Langre joined the team in January and quickly proved to be a key player as a freshman for the Trojans ... He finished the season with the team’s best record, both overall (23-6) and in dual matches (21-4) ... Throughout the spring, he also accounted for the Trojans’ longest win streak, claiming 11 straight from Feb. 8 through March 17 ... He played mainly at the No. 4 and 5 positions, and spent two matches at No. 3 ... The weekend he was moved up in the lineup, he upset K.J. Hippensteel of Stanford and Hiro Nakamura of Cal ... Despite USC’s two losses in the Bay Area, he was the only one to sweep the series ... At the Pac-10 Tournament, he was defeated in the first round by UCLA’s Jong-Min Lee ... He and partner Patrick Gottesleben posted the team’s best doubles record in dual match play with 18 wins and only six losses ... He also played two matches with Nick Rainey (2-0) and two with Ryan Moore (1-1).
PREP EXPERIENCE:
A 2000 graduate of Secretaria de Educación Pública in Mexico City ... As a four-time Mexican national champion in the U12, U14, U16 and U18 divisions, he was ranked as high as No. 7 internationally as a member of Mexico’s junior national team ... In 1999, he competed on Mexico’s Davis Cup team and reached the Wimbledon junior semifinals in doubles ... He was the Mexican, Central American and Caribbean champion in the 14-under division.
