THIS SEASON: Jonny Wang enters his third season at USC ranked No. 63 in the nation in ITA preseason singles.
2012-13 SEASON: Wang finished his sophomore season ranked No. 90 in the nation in ITA singles... Reached the ITA Southwest Regional singles quarterfinals... Went 30-7 overall in singles, going 15-3 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 6 position, going 8-1... Also played at No. 4 (4-1) and No. 5 (3-1)... Was a perfect 6-0 in Pac-12 dual-match singles... Had the clinching singles victory in four dual matches... In doubles, was 9-3 overall and 3-1 in dual matches... Went 5-1 overall and 1-0 in dual matches with Max de Vroome... Was 4-3 overall and 2-1 in dual matches with Michael Grant... In the fall, won the SDSU Fall Invitational doubles championship and reached the semifinals of the Battle in the Bay... Highest season rank was No. 86 in singles on March 26.
2011-12 SEASON: Wang went 14-8 overall and was 2-0 in dual-match singles as a true freshman... Competed in dual matches vs. UC Santa Barbara and San Diego State... In doubles, went 4-7 overall, going 3-3 with Eric Johnson and 1-4 with Corey Smith... In the fall, reached the semifinals of the Fresno State Bulldog Classic and reached the consolation final of the SoCal Intercollegiates.
HIGH SCHOOL: Wang graduated from San Marino (Calif.) High School... Was a 2011 Ojai CIF singles finalist and the 2008-2011 Rio Hondo League Champion... Named Pasadena Star News Player of the Year from 2008-2011... Won the 2009 Boys National Open Championship and the 2007 Boys 14s National Open Singles Championship... Ranked 11th in the nation in boys 16s singles.
