2006: Peterson was 4-7 in singles play overall and appeared in one dual match, playing No. 6 and falling in three sets to Long Beach State’s Rachael Porsz... Compiled a 4-4 record in singles and was 1-2 in doubles this fall... Advanced to the semifinals of the Fall Desert Classic consolation round, where she lost to USC teammate Luana Magnani... Reached Fall Desert Classic semis in doubles with Jusy DeVera, falling again to USC teammates Dianne Matias and Carine Vermeulen.

HIGH SCHOOL: Peterson is a 2005 graduate of Santa Barbara High… A three-year letterwinner… Led her team to a CIF Championship in 2004… A Channel League individual champion in 2004 and 2005… In her first year of 18-and-unders, she ranked in the nation’s top 60… Winner of the 2004 West Coast National… A member of Honor Board in her all three of her years at Santa Barbara High... Was home schooled her sophomore year… Named MVP of her team as a junior and senior.

PERSONAL: Whitney Chase Peterson was born on July 22, 1987, in Santa Barbara, Calif…. The daughter of David and Sue Peterson... Has a brother Parker and sister Lakey… Her mother, Sue, was a four-year letterwinner in swimming for USC, a 1978 and 1979 national champion in the 50 freestyle and the 50 breaststroke, and an 18-time All-American…Her father, David, also attended USC… Chose USC because of the athletic program, strong academics and the location… Would like to travel after graduation, listing Japan, South America and Africa as places she would like to visit… Major is undeclared.
