I chose to come to UTA because of the convenient location of the campus and also because of the team's motivational atmosphere. I have not regretted my decision ever since. As i have grown up in Riga which is the capital city of Latvia, I am used to be close the biggest events taking place in my home country. Right now being in the Dallas/Fort Worth area provides me with this. Because it is a home for many world known museums, sport teams and also it hosts many concerts of famous bands. Though at the same time it can also be a calm place to focus more on the academics.

2003-2004
Named to the All-Southland Conference first team at No. 2 doubles with partner Simri Van Rooyen after an 8-1 showing in league play...Ranked as high as No. 46 nationally during last season...Owned a 10-11 singles mark, 6-3 in SLC action at the top flight.

2002-2003
Named the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, and earned second team all-SLC honors at No. 2 doubles with teammate Annemarie Lenze...Finished with a 17-14 overall record...Put up a 7-3 record against league opponents...Went 8-8 at No. 2 singles and 3-2 at No. 3...Finished with a perfect 10-0 record at No. 2 doubles with Lenze.

Prior to UTA
Participated in figure skating and athletics at Rigas Varana Gimnazija...Graduated in Spring of 2002...Was a biology olimpiad (2nd place).
