AUSTIN, Texas - No. 22 Texas (8-8, 4-0 Big 12) took a hard-fought doubles point and swept the singles session on its way to a 7-0 win over West Virginia (4-11, 0-4 Big 12) Sunday afternoon at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.

Texas' Lina Padegimaite and Annat Rabinovich led off with an 8-2 win over WVU's Irinka Toidze and Vivian Tsui at third doubles. West Virginia responded with a win at first doubles, but UT's Elizabeth Begley and Aeriel Ellis clinched the doubles point for Texas with an 8-4 win over Emily Mathis and Audrey Wooland at second doubles.

Texas quickly put away the Mountaineers and nailed down its fourth straight conference win. Padegimaite shut out WVU's Tsui at fifth singles, 6-0, 6-0 before Begley notched a 6-0, 6-2 win over Mathis at fourth singles. Texas clinched the match at first singles, where Ellis notched a 6-1, 6-3 over Wooland.

UT's 52nd-ranked Breaunna Addison dealt WVU's Hailey Barrett a 6-2, 6-0 defeat at second singles, and UT sophomore Annat Rabinovich posted a 6-0, 7-5 win over Toidze at sixth singles. Noel Scott closed out the 7-0 Texas win with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Iktesh Chahal at third singles.

Texas resumes its spring schedule on Sunday, March 31 when it hosts SMU.
