AS A FRESHMAN (2003-04)

• Named team Co-MVP along with sophomore Katie Ruckert. 

• Played primarily at the No. 6 singles spot and amassed a 17-9 dual-match record.

• Compiled a perfect 10-0 record in singles during the Big 12 regular season.

• Teamed with sophomore Kelly Baritot in doubles to record a 14-13 mark in dual matches.

• Recorded an 8-2 mark at No. 3 doubles with Baritot during conference play.  

 

BEFORE TEXAS

• A four-time state of Montana singles champion who posted a 96-0 record during her high school career.

• Finished the 2002-03 season positioned No. 69 in Girls’ 18 rankings compiled by the USTA.

   • Qualified for International Clay Court and Hard Court singles championships in 2002.

   • Competed in the Junior Federation Cup in 2002.

   • A doubles finalist at the 2001 Winter Super National Championships.

• Intermountain Section Champion in Girls’ 12s, 14s and 18s while finishing second in Girls 16s.

• Selected team MVP during each of her four years of high school.

• Helped lead Sentinel High School to four consecutive third-place finishes at the state tournament, and was named a four-time All-State selection and Western Division Champion.

• Four-year letterwinner in basketball who, as a senior, led her team in free-throw percentage, was selected the team’s captain, was recognized as an All-Conference performer and received honorable mention All-Tournament team laurels at the state tournament.

• Member of the National Honor Society for four straight years.

PERSONAL

Daughter of Craig and Susan Olson … has one older brother, Braden … her father, Craig, served as her high school tennis coach for four years … her grandfather, Maynard Olson, played football and track at Mayville State in North Dakota, while her other grandfather, Jim Wedin, played baseball in the New York Giants minor league system and also played college basketball, football and track at the University of Montana and Montana Tech … majoring in liberal arts … born January 16, 1985.
