 Bryan Vescio
GREEN BAY, Wis. - Bryan Vescio, currently an associate professor for English and Humanistic Studies and chair of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay's English department, has joined the Green Bay men's tennis program as an assistant coach, head coach Mark Thomas announced today.

Vescio currently is the top-ranked men's 35 Singles player in the state. Last year, Vescio won four Men's 35 Singles titles in the state, including the Wisconsin State Open and the Sports Core Senior Open. He also ranked as high as fifth in the state last year in Men's 35 Doubles.

Vescio also had a stellar prep tennis career, as he was the No. 1 singles player and a three-time state qualifier at Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac, Wis. During his senior season, Vescio boasted a 26-2 record.

Outside of tennis, Vescio has been a part of the UW-Green Bay faculty since 2002 and moved into his role as the chair of the English department in 2008. Vescio teaches various courses, including American Literature, Introduction to the Humanities, Literary Theory and World Literature while also mentoring independent study programs.

Vescio holds both a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of Virginia. He graduated from Wisconsin with a B.A. in English in 1993
