2002-2003 (Junior): Stephen Mitchell finished his junior season ranked No. 97 in singles... He played at the No. 2 position throughout SEC and NCAA tournament play and notched a 5-5 mark against ranked opponents in singles... Stephen won the ITA South Regional doubles tournament partnering with Geoff Hiscox, the duo was ranked as high as No. 8 at one point during the season... Mitchell finished the season with a team-high 23 wins in both singles and doubles...

2001-2002 (Sophomore): Held down the No. 3 position in the Tide’s dual line up posting 10 wins against just three losses...Combined 11-8 doubles record at the No. 1 position with two different partners.

2000-2001 (Freshman): Mitchell amassed an 18-5 doubles record pairing with Susheel Narla, Chris Gostek and William Boyles... Mitchell’s 12-1 doubles record while paired with Susheel Narla in 2001 led the team with a .923 win percentage.

Attended Rondebasch Boys' High School in Cape Town where he played at the No. 1 position... Mitchell was his high school's team singles champion... High school team won the Premier League in 1999 and 2000... Competed in the Australian, Wimbledon, and U.S. Open Junior Grand Slams in 2000...
