As the Crimson Tide’s only sophomore, Drummond is looking to recover from a shoulder injury which kept him out of fall play. He will compete for a spot in the lineup in the spring...
2002-2003 (Freshman): Drummond missed most of his freshman season with a nagging shoulder injury... he beat Jacksonville State’s Christian Rybert in two sets in his only dual match action... Drummond played two matches in the fall at the Harvard Crimson Classic...

Matt attended Mountain Brook High School where he was coached by former UA men’s tennis coach Tommy Wade... He played No. 1 on state championship teams in 1998, 1999 and 2000 at Mountain Brook... Matt also represented Alabama in Davis Cup competition... he played in the Orange Bowl International tournament... He also played in national toournaments consecutively for eight years... In addition to his tennis accomplishments, Matt was an excellent student who won a national leadership award... he was active in Key Club, FCA, Latin Club... Matt also played tailback on the Mountain Brook football team for Coach Joey Jones...

Matt is an avid outdoorsman who likes to hunt and fish.... his brother, Michael, played tennis at Princeton University... Matt and Michael won the doubles state chapmionship when Matt was in 8th grade and Michael was a senior in high school... Born November 22, 1983... Parents are Mike and Vicki Drummond... Matt began playing tennis at age five...
