2002-2003 (Sophomore • NC State):  Murray played No. 1 singles for most of the season at NC State... playing with a broken hand he posted a 6-19 mark at the highest level of ACC play... RJ played ten ranked singles opponents...  At the South Carolina Fall Invitaional, Murray defeated Roger Thiele, who was ranked No. 16 in the country at the time...

2001-2002 (Freshman • NC State):  As a freshman Murray had a team leading 10 singles wins at NC State... Murry also posted a 4-1 overall record including a 3-1 mark in the ACC in doubles...

RJ attended Dunedin Academy in Clearwater, Fla... He won the National Clay Court Championships with Val Banada... His high school team won two state championships and RJ won a state title as a freshman... He achieved a No. 1 singles ranking in Florida numerous times during his junior career...

Parents are Rick and Kathy Murray... Full name is Raymond James Murray... RJ’s brother, Mike, played tennis for Wake Forest... Born July 22, 1983.
