Claire Bartlett did not play during the 2011 spring season due to injury (lower back) … earned a spot on the 2011 Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll ... enrolled at the University of Florida during the summer of 2009 after playing her freshman year at the University of Virginia … comes from a very accomplished athletic family: grandfather, Tommy Bartlett, was UF’s men’s basketball head coach from 1966-73 and remains as one of the winningest coaches in program history; Tommy played varsity tennis and basketball at the University of Tennessee (1950-52), was an assistant coach for the Vols (1962-66) and in 1986 was inducted into UT’s Sports Hall of Fame; mother, Sue Bartlett, won the USTA National 35 Hard-Court Tennis Championships and teamed with Claire to win the 2003 USTA National Mother-Daughter Championship; Sue was a All-American at UT-Chattanooga and helped the team win the 1978 and 1979 AIAW National titles; father, Billy Bartlett, was a professional fisherman on the BASS Tour for 10 years

AS A SOPHOMORE (2009-10)

2010 SPRING

Singles: Completed the season having won her last 11 singles matches … provided the clinching 6-0, 6-0 win in the NCAA First Round against South Carolina State’s I-Chun Amy Chen … did not lose more than three games in an entire match in each of her last five outings and in seven of her last eight matches … last loss was on Feb. 14 to UCLA’s Maya Johansson in the third round of the National Team Indoors; that decision clinched the 4-1 decision in favor of UCLA, while her tough 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 setback to Northwestern’s Elena Chernyakova also clinched the 4-3 loss in the second round of National Indoors … compiled a 28-10 overall singles record, including a 16-3 mark in dual matches … plays the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions, posting 5-1 and 11-2 records, respectively … went 7-0 in SEC dual matches … clinched the 4-0 SEC Tournament first round victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Auburn’s Hannah Robinson … posted two double-bagel wins at UF, the first coming on April 4 vs. Kentucky’s Elle Coldiron (April 4) … 2-2 versus ranked opponents, with best win against Florida State’s No. 82 Fredrica Suess, 7-5, 6-4 on Oct. 24 in the ITA Southeast Regional Round of 16 … 3-2 in clinching matches, one victory and both defeats coming at the ITA Team Indoor Championships

Doubles: Season-High National Doubles Ranking: 40 (Feb. 18, with Joanna Mather) … 14-5 overall doubles record … partnered with five different players during dual matches compiling an 8-2 record with a 7-2 record at No. 6 and a 1-0 record at No. 5 (1-0 at No. 2 with Marrit Boonstra; 4-0 at No. 3 with Brittany Borsanyi; 1-2 at No. 3 with Caroline Hitimana; 1-0 at No. 3 with Joanna Mather; 1-0 at No. 3 with Allie Will) … 1-0 in clinching doubles-point matches, with lone attempt an 8-4 win vs. Ole Miss’ van de Stroet and A. Gutherie coming with Will on March 28.
