AT ILLINOIS...
2002-03:
• Made finals of the ITA summer collegiate championships over the summer; won the ITA summer tournament at Ohio State and reached the finals at the event in Bloomington, Ind.
• Honored as the 2002 ITA National Summer Player of the Year
• Defeated former Illini Mike Kosta in qualifying for the Godfrey, Ill. Futures tournament; later, in the main draw of the tourney, he also beat former Duke All-American Ramsey Smith
• Earned a No. 88 fall ITA singles ranking
2001-02:
• Went 19-6 in singles play at the No. 5 and 6 spots
• Teamed with various doubles partners to go 7-3
• Named Illinois' Player to Watch
• Garnered the Illini's Scholar-Athlete Award
• Ranked as high as No. 100 in singles nationally
PREPS/JUNIORS:
• Chosen in 1999 for the USTA's Select Traveling Team
• Competed in the U.S., Australian and French (twice) Open junior tournaments
• Earned the No. 54 world junior ranking in 1999
• Won ITF Mali Cup doubles title
• Ranked No. 1 nationally (in both singles and doubles) for his age group and selected the Oklahoma player of the year in 1996
• Won USTA national claycourt singles and doubles titles, the national hardcourt singles, and Easter Bowl doubles title
• USTA Boys 16's national indoor doubles champion
• Ranked No. 5 in the country in both singles and doubles in 1998
• Doubles champion at USTA Boys 18s International Hard-court Tournament
• State high school singles and doubles runner-up as an eighth grader, champion as a freshman
• Qualified for six Futures events, picked up 4 ATP points
• Led his high school to second place in the state and then the state championship in his freshman and senior years, respectively
• Qualified and won a round in two consecutive professional futures events in Mexico
