AT ILLINOIS...

2001-02:
• Assembled a 2-1 doubles mark and a 1-1 singles record
• Earned his third varsity letter at Illinois

2000-01:
• Put together a 2-4 singles mark
• Doubles record was 2-1, as he teamed with Alex Muresan and with Ben Schreiber
• Earned his second varsity letter with the Fighting Illini
• Teamed with Ball State's Andrew Seni to take third place in the National Amateur Hardcourts during the summer of 2001 at Ohio State

1999-2000:
• Went 1-6 overall in singles
• Went 1-2 overall in doubles
• Earned the team’s Strength and Conditioning Award

PREPS/JUNIORS:
• Placed 13th in the state as a senior
• Was a second-team all-state selection

PERSONAL:
• Parents are Ian and Claude Hobson, both professors at U of I
• Is the eldest of seven children-Jeremy (20), Nicola (18), Oliver (17), Gabriel (15), Sophie (13), and Thea (6)
• Two-time downstate Illinois champion in downstate Illinois in the National French contest (1994, 1995)
