LEXINGTON, Ky. - Junior Tom Jomby registered one of the biggest singles wins of his career on Wednesday afternoon as he dismissed the fourth-ranked player in the country, Peter Kobelt of Ohio State University in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (3) as the Buckeyes raced past the No. 8 Kentucky Wildcats 6-1 in a top-10 match at the Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Center in Lexington.

Jomby with the win improved his overall season record  to 15-4 (6-2 SEC) on the season, including nine wins against ranked opponents. The junior from France also picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win on Wednesday night in the nightcap against Murray State to collect his 16th win of the season.

Jomby's point was the only the Wildcats were able to muster on the afternoon, as the Buckeyes took the doubles point with wins on courts two (8-1) and three (8-4) to register the early lead in the match.

No. 18 Anthony Rossi took the first set on court one from No. 13 Blaz Rola of Ohio State, 6-4. After breaking Rossi in the second set, and holding on for a 7-5 win in the second, Rola won the ten-point super tiebreak to decide the match 10-7. Rossi had a 7-2 lead in the tiebreak before the match slipped out of his hands down the stretch.

Kentucky would cap off the night with another win against in-state foe Murray State, a match in which the Wildcats did not lose a set, and won 6-0 as there was no doubles played.

The matches with OSU and Murray State were the final non-conference tests for UK, as the Wildcats will set their sights this weekend back on Southeastern Conference action, traveling to Nashville for a clash with No. 14 Vanderbilt on the road. Match time on Saturday, April 6 is at 1:00 p.m. ET.
