Spring 2005: Led the Tigers with 13 singles victories (tying with Alex Bucewicz)...Also split time at No. 1 singles with Bucewicz, finishing with a 5-3 mark at No. 1 and an 8-6 record at No. 2...Was 7-3 in his last 10 matches of the year after suffering an injury in the Middle Tennessee match which prompted three straight singles losses to end the season...Teamed with Scott Felsenthal at No. 1 doubles for an 11-9 mark and spent two weeks among the national doubles rankings...Was named Conference USA Third Team All-Conference, his first career all-conference award...Picked up his first career award from C-USA when he and Felsenthal shared the C-USA Player of the Week award.

Fall 2004: Was named to the Tiger 3.0 Club for having of GPA of 3.0 or higher for the second straight semester...Capped the fall season with a 5-3 mark in singles, coming back from a season-opening loss to Marco Born of Middle Tennessee to advance to the A1 Consolation Singles finals, where he was to have faced teammate Alex Bucewicz in a match that was rained out...Advanced to the A singles quarterfinals at Arkansas, winning his first two matches before falling to Southwest Baptist's Dante Cipulli, 6-3, 6-2...Qualified for the main draw at the ITA Southeast Regional, using a thrilling 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 win over Middle Tennessee's Anant Sitaram to advance to the second round, where he fell to No. 17 seed Eric Claesson of Ole Miss, 6-3, 7-6...Teamed with senior Scott Felsenthal in doubles at the ITA Southeast Regional and advanced all the way to the Quarterfinals after upending the No. 7 seed of Claesson and Juan Pablo di Cesare of Ole Miss, 8-3...Fell in the quarterfinals to No. 7 seeded Ockie Oosthuizen and Ben Rogers of Tennessee to wrap up the fall schedule.

Spring 2004: Was named to the Tiger 3.0 Club for having a GPA of 3.0 or higher...Was tied for third on the squad with 12 singles victories in his first spring dual season...Finished the year with a 12-7 mark at No. 2 singles and teamed with senior Lee Taylor Walker to post a 15-6 mark at No. 1 doubles...That duo won five of their last eight matches at No. 1, while Spence had the chance to finish just one singles match at the C-USA Tournament, suffering a 6-4, 6-4 loss to a USF opponent in a 4-3 Tiger victory...At one points, Spence had won seven of his first nine matches.

Fall 2003: Went 5-5 in his first collegiate semester...Opened his career with three straight wins at the Middle Tennessee State Tournament before falling to MTSU's Rishan Kuruppu, 7-5, 6-2, in the semifinals...Suffered a 6-7 (2), 6-4, 6-2 loss to College of Charleston's Artie Peller in the opening round of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships before falling to Georgia Southern's Vincent Patry, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the consolation bracket...Downed Baylor's Jon Reckewey, 6-4, 6-4, in the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifier before falling to Virginia Tech's Stephane Rod, 6-2, 6-3...Downed UAB's Ruben Zrihen, 6-0, 6-1, in the opening round of the ITA Southeast Regional in Memphis before falling to No. 63 Stephen Mitchell from Alabama, 6-1, 6-2...Was 5-3 in doubles with Lee Taylor Walker...The duo picked up their first win of the season in the second tournament of the year, downing Georgia's Jason Varela and Strahinja Bobusic at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships, 8-3, then downing Vanderbilt's Zach Dailey and Scott Brown, 8-2, to advance to the quarterfinals...Had to withdraw from the quarters to return to Memphis for class since the quarters were scheduled for a week-day play...Downed UALR's Mithun Murali andNihal Advani, 8-2, in the opening round of the All-American Pre-Qualifier, then downed the Rice duo of Vuk Rajevac and Takehiko Morita, 8-6, to advance to the Round of 32 where they fell to Purdue's Troy Havens and Paul Rose, 8-6...Downed Tulane's Dmitriy Koch and David Goulet in their opening round of the ITA Southeast Regional, 9-7, before falling to the No. 32 ranked team of Romain Ambert and Florent Girod from Mississippi State in the Round of 16, 8-3...Had a 3.75 GPA in his first semester at Memphis.
