Prep: Loup played his prep tennis at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana...He won the 2006 Louisiana High School Athletic Association singles title as a senior, helping his Catholic team to a Division I - Class 5A Runner-up finish...Was a three-year captain of his prep team...Was named the Catholic MVP as a sophomore, junior and senior and was a Louisiana High School Star of Stars in 2006...Loup was a four-star recruit according to TennisRecruiting.net...That same website has him listed as the No. 2 senior in the State of Louisiana...Loup won the Louisiana State Closed Junior Qualifying Tournament in June of 2006 and is currently ranked No. 31 on the USTA Southern Boys 18 Closed Endorsement List...Carries a 33-19 record in USTA Junior Circuit play...Advanced to the consolation quarterfinals of the Bullfrog USTA Southern Section Designated tournament in April of 2006...Also appeared in the finals of the Louisiana Spring State Championships in March of 2006, falling in three sets in the finals to Charlie Jones...Went 4-0 in 14-18s STA Bullfrog Jr Davis/Fed Cup in September of 2005...Was also coached by Johnny Wahlborg.
Personal: Son of Darrell and Beth Loup...His dad is an attorney and his mom works in the LSU Law School...Choose Memphis for its engineering program...Was also recruited by LSU and Southern Miss...Has two older sisters...His cousin, Chad Loup, a quarterback at LSU, and another cousin, Frank Godfrey, was a center for LSU...Lists his greatest accomplishment as advancing to the quarterfinals of the National Clay Courts...Would play LSU and Georgia if he could put teams on the schedule...Plans on working in engineering after graduation...Also enjoys hunting, fishing and country music....Majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
