OBENAUS'S CAREER RECORD YEAR SINGLES (dual/overall) DOUBLES (dual/overall) 2007-08 3-4/9-9 11-5/17-8 Career 3-4/9-9 11-5/17-8   2007-08 (Freshman): Showed himself to be one of the grittiest Huskies on the team, fighting for every point ... went 9-9 overall in singles play, 3-4 in dual play, and was 17-8 in doubles ... after dropping his first two college matches, he won six of his next eight, including a run to the quarterfinals of the ITA NW Regional Championships, eventually losing to Cal's Bozhidar Katsarov ... at the ITA National Team Indoors, he played three of his most dramatic matches, but none reached the finish as one team clinched every night with Obenaus in a third set ... hit a rough patch during the middle of the season, but finished strong at Pac-10's by advancing to the quarterfinals of the Invitational draw ... in the Pac-10 Invite first round, he defeated USC's Jason McNaughton, the No. 5 singles player for the Trojans, then defeated Oregon's No. 5 player, Romeo Mortera ... spent the majority of the season as UW's No. 3 doubles team along with Martin Kildahl, going 11-5 at No. 3 and 13-6 overall ... the pair won nine-straight dual matches from Feb. 16 until Mar. 25, defeating duos from Alabama, Illinois, and Pepperdine among others ... with Obenaus, reached the semifinals of the Pac-10 Invitational, losing to a USC pair ... also went 4-2 in the fall paired with Patrik Fischer, the two reaching the quarterfinals of the ITA NW Regionals, and the semifinals of the top flight at the Chandler Cup.
