GENERAL: One of three returning seniors on the squad ... Consistent player ... Owns an impressive 59-16 overall singles record. 2004-05/SENIOR: Fashioned a 17-8 singles mark, playing at least one match at the first through fifth slots... Also had a superb 16-3 doubles ledger.... Captured a thrilling, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3) win over Jose-Carlos Pinto in the Rams' 5-1 victory over #23 Mississippi State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (May 13).... Defeated William & Mary's Alex Cojanu, 7-5, 6-2 in fourth singles during the CAA Championship match.... Won all three of his singles matches during the CAA Tournament... Entered the NCAA tournament on a nine-match win streak in singles play ... Helped VCU to its NCAA Team Championship first round win over Richmond, defeating the Spider’s Eric Hage in straight sets (6-1, 6-0) … Paired with fellow Barcelona native Sergi Arumi to defeat Richmond’s Matt Stillwagon and Ryan Goldsmith, 8-4, in doubles, also during the NCAA Team Championship … Posted a 16-4 mark along with Arumi as the Rams’ number three doubles tandem ... Put together a tremendous run at the 2004 CAA Championships, where he triumphed in all three of his singles and doubles bouts during the event ... Lost a total of just nine games in his six matches for the entire CAA tournament ... Named the CAA’s Doubles Team of the Week along with Arumi on March 9 after the pair downed second-ranked Baylor’s combo of Reiner Neurohr and Igor Lovrak three days earlier ... Primarily competed at the number six singles slot for the Rams, but went undefeated in 12 bouts when playing numbers two through five this year ... Teamed with Arumi for a crucial 9-7 victory at number three doubles to help the Rams defeat 19th-ranked Tulane by a 4-3 score in the semifinals of the Blue-Gray National Collegiate Classic, March 13 ... Reached the quarterfinals of the Flight A singles bracket during the Old Point National Bank Invitational back in October. 2002-03 SOPHOMORE: Earned second team All-CAA honors in both singles and doubles ... massed an outstanding 20-2 singles record while playing mainly the numbers five and six slots ... Also compiled a 13-6 doubles mark for the season ... Won his match at number five singles in VCU’s NCAA first round loss at Harvard, May 10 ...
