Sophomore Year (2001-02): Owen provided support at the No. 5 and 6 positions for the Seminoles…overall record was 12-9 in the 2002 season… played singles in two preseason tournaments… was 3-1 at the No. 5 singles position and 6-5 at the No. 6 spot… was also a versatile force in doubles with his ability to play with a multitude of teammates as well as at any position…went 3-3 in doubles play in the fall and 8-8 in dual match doubles play…combined with teammate Alex Herrera to win the doubles draw at the 2001 Seminoles Fall Classic.

Freshman Year (2000-01): In doubles action Owen went on two four-match winning streaks during the spring season…finished with a winning record in doubles play going 12-8…Started his spring season off on yet another four-match win streak, including a win against Florida’s Matt Behrmann…played at the No. 3, 4 and 5 positions, finishing 3-2 at the No. 3 position…finished out the spring season with a record of 16-16.

High School and Other Accomplishments: Played basketball and tennis… Regional champion in singles and doubles freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year… District champion in singles and doubles freshman, junior and senior year… District finalist in doubles his sophomore year… State finalist in singles and doubles freshman and senior year…State champion in doubles junior year…State doubles semifinalist sophomore year…Florida Open Doubles finalist in 1997 and 1999…U.S. National Clay Court semifinalist in 2000…maintained a 3.0 grade point average while enrolled in honor classes.

Personal: Son of Steve and Mitzi Owen… lives with twin brother Josh….enjoys golf, fishing, surfing and diving… father, Steve, played in U.S. and British Amatuer Golf…is a business major… born on August 28,1981.
