This Season: Chong Wang enters his second season at USC... Went 0-2 in singles during the fall.

2006: Wang posted the team’s best singles record, going 20-13 overall... Was 14-8 in dual matches, playing primarily at the No. 5 position (8-5)... Was 4-0 at No. 6... Played minimal doubles, giond 3-5 overall after pairing with Aaron Badart (0-1), Dejan Cvetkovic (0-2), Whit Livingston (2-0), Kaes Van’t Hof (1-1) and Brian Wright (0-1)... Compiled a 6-3 record in the fall… Advanced to the semifinals of the ITA/Regional consolation round... Also competed in the Torero Challenge and played the No. 4 position against Notre Dame.

HIGH SCHOOL: Wang is a 2004 graduate of Clear Lake High in Houston, Texas… A four-year letterwinner who played at No. 1 singles and doubles… Twice led his team to a second-place finish in the State Championships… Won the under-14 Nationals and was a finalist in under-16s…Ranked No. 1 in under-18s…Had the No. 1 ranking in his high school class with a 4.5 GPA.

PERSONAL: Chong Wang was born on October 19, 1987 in China… The son of Tao and Shihong Wang, he has one brother, Kevin… Lists the 2005 USC vs. Notre Dame football game as the most thrilling moment in sports… Chose USC because it has great tennis and a good combination of academics and fun… Lists hang-gliding or skydiving as things he has always wanted to do… His career goals are to live life and make the most of every opportunity… A business major who would like to open a bar after graduation.
