John Walker
John Walked recently completed his ninth season as the ACU men’s and women’s assistant tennis coach, after which he was honored as the South Central Region’s Assistant Coach of the Year by the ITA.
Walker, a 1989 graduate of ACU, earned a bachelor’s degree in pre-med and elementary education. He also graduated from the Parker College of Chiropractic in 1994.
Since 1990, he has worked at four country clubs as either the assistant tennis pro or the head tennis pro, including eight years (1995-2003) as the assistant pro at the Abilene Country Club, followed by one year as the head tennis pro at the Odessa Country Club. He was named the assistant coach at ACU on Aug. 1, 2003.
He and his wife, Kelli, have three children, including Jaclyn, who last season completed an All-America career on the women’s tennis team. His middle daughter, Madelyn, will be entering her junior year in August of 2012.
