Byuh men's tennisteam knocked off 18th-ranked UC San Diego

Phoenix, AZ—The Brigham Young University Hawaii men’s tennis team knocked off 18th-ranked UC San Diego today, 8-1, on a neutral court in Phoenix, Arizona. The Seasiders, ranked 27th nationally, swept the three doubles matches and took the top five singles matches to improve to 5-1 for the season.
Rong Ma and Agnel Peter claimed an 8-4 win at number one doubles while Romeo Juhasz and Joseph Beck did the same at the third doubles position. Manu Bajpai and Carlton Taylor won at the second doubles slot 8-5.
In singles play Ma took a 6-1, 6-3 win at the top spot, Peter won 7-6(8), 6-3 at the second position, and Bajpai earned a 7-6(4), 6-2 win at number three singles. Carlton Taylor won in a super-tiebreaker, 6-4, 6-7(1), 1-0(8), at the fourth slot and Romeo Juhasz won handily, 6-3, 6-2, at number five.
The Seasiders will face UH-Hilo on February 27th in Hilo at 1:00 pm in their next action.
