A great team player that has the ability to really bring his "A" game every time out on the court…FALL 2002: Competed in three tournaments, compiling 3-6 record in singles…defeated Arizona’s Colin O’Grady in round robin competition at Napa Valley Challenge…at Omni Hotels Regional Championship, advanced to Round of 16 in the back draw with wins over Santa Clara’s Ted Blosser and Cal Poly’s Stacy Meronoff…in doubles, teamed with fellow senior Kevin Patrick…defeated Cal Poly’s Crawford/Sans-Leeb in first round of Omni Hotels Regional Championships…2001-02: Saw first-ever dual match action at No. 6 singles in 6-2, 6-4 win against St. Mary’s Philip Laubscher…moved up to varsity squad in 2002 from Cal’s club team…bagged his first intercollegiate win at Bulldog Classic, defeating Francisco Zepponi of Santa Clara by a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 margin…competed with fellow freshman Dean Wallace in doubles at Northwest Regional Championships, winning his first intercollegiate doubles match, defeating team of Burgemeister and Sarovic of St. Mary’s College in second round by 8-5 score before falling in third round.

PERSONAL/PREVIOUS: Was varsity tennis MVP all four years in high school…section champion in his senior year, where he also boasted 20-1 record…was team manager his freshman and sophomore years...also played varsity basketball his junior year and varsity soccer his sophomore and senior years in high school…was 3rd in his class and voted "Most Likely to be Next Piccasso" by his senior class…major is practice of art…his hobbies are art, music and playing piano…parents are Nancy and Doug King… father, Doug, played tennis for the Bears from 1973-76…aunt and both paternal grandparents also attended Cal…sister, Katie, is currently a sophomore at Cal and manager of the women’s tennis team…born September 6, 1980 in Walnut Creek, CA.
