Zack Warren
Zack Warren, enters his first year at California after serving three years as the men's assistant tennis coach at Brigham Young University.
While at BYU, Warren helped guide the men's program to three historic seasons, which included an overall record of 58-22 and a Mountain Region record of 27-0.
The 2010 and 2011 Cougar squads both finished with a BYU record-tying 21 wins, going 21-7 and 21-6, helping propel the team to two consecutive NCAA Championships.
In 2010, Warren helped the Cougars earn their first Conference title since 2003. The Cougars went on to win both the Mountain West Conference regular-season championship and tournament title in 2011.
BYU found itself in the top 25 in 2010 for the first time in over 30 years. And in the 2011-2012 season he coached Georgy Batrakov to the final 16 of the All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Warren's perfect record against regional opponents (27-0) over three seasons helped him earn the 2011 Mountain Region Assistant Tennis Coach of the Year, making him a candidate for the National Assistant Coach of the Year.
Before his hiring as an assistant coach, Warren played collegiate tennis for BYU during the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons.
Prior to his playing and coaching experience at BYU, Warren was an instructor for BYU tennis camps as well as the summer camp director for Rolling Hills Club in Novato, Calif.
Warren graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in communications and a business minor. His wife, Angela, is a former All-American track athlete for BYU. The two of them reside in Marin County.
