Camp General Info -  Golden Bear Tennis Camp
Our Mission is to provide students with a tennis experience that maximizes their performance and increases their enjoyment of the game. To accomplish this, we provide a stimulating learning environment that is safe, positive, and most of all, fun!

Each participant in our camps will be evaluated and will receive instruction from camp director Amy Jensen and excellent tennis instructors on staff at California. We are looking forward to another successful year, sharing our knowledge and experience with players of all ages!

COACHING STAFF

Amy Jensen

    • Associate Head Coach, Cal Women's Tennis (3rd season)
    • Coached a final four team (2002), NCAA doubles champions (2002), #1 ranked college player Raquel Kops-Jones (2002-03 season)
    • Three-time NCAA champion, All-American singles and doubles, two-time final-four participant
    • WTA world ranked professional player; competed in the 1998, 1999, 2000 US Opens and 2001 Australian Open
    • USPTA certified teaching professional
    • NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist
    • Six years coaching/camp experience at San Francisco Tennis Club, Meadowood Country Club (Napa Valley), Olympic Club (Daly City), Piping Rock Club (Long Island, NY).

      • Reached #25 national ranking

    CAMP INFORMATION & SIGN-UP DETAILS

    What to bring to camp:

      - Tennis racquet
      - Non-marking tennis shoes (no black soles)
      - Hat
      - Sunscreen
      - Water bottles (iced water jugs will be on site)
      - Lunch and snack (except on the last day)
      - A great attitude!

    * Racquets will be provided to campers who don't own one

    CAMPS

      There will be three, one-week camp sessions and each will run from Monday-Friday. Both full-day (9am-3pm) and half-day (9am-1pm) will be available.

      DAILY SCHEDULE

        9:30am Warm-Up
        10:00am-12:00pm On-court skill development
        Drilling (including ball machine) and physical training
        12:00pm-1:00pm Lunch Break
        1:00pm-2:00pm Point Play (singles and doubles)
        On-court team games
        2:00pm-3:00pm Team-building games and activities

        * The last day of camp will be a round-robin competition, followed by a "hit for prizes" game. Everyone is a winner! Pizza will be provided and each camper will receive a camp t-shirt.

      PRIVATE LESSONS

      * Private lessons are available, both before and after camp hours, and between camp weeks. This can be a great way to meet the needs of the competitive tournament or high school player. It is also an ideal way to develop the skills and confidence of the inexperienced or first time player.

      ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES & INFORMATION

      Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so register early.

      Enrollment Form
      Complete entire front and back of enrollment form from the website, which must be completed and signed by parent/legal guardian. All forms are REQUIRED for camp participation. Incomplete and/or illegible forms will be returned unprocessed. For those registering online, no additional forms are required.

      Payment and Fees

        Checks: Checks payable to "U.C. Regents"
        Credit Cards: Fill out appropriate form clearly. Cal Sports Camps accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover only.
      Discounts for UC Affiliates Discontinued
      Unfortunately, discounts for UC Berkeley affiliates will no longer be offered, due to increased operational costs and athletic field maintenance.

      Confirmation of Enrollment
      Upon acceptance into camp, participants will be sent a confirmation letter with a list of recommended items to bring and directions to camp. Online enrollments receive confirmation via email.

      Refunds Policy
      Written request for a transfer or cancellation must be received in the Ticket Office no less than 30 days prior to the first day of camp to qualify for a refund or transfer. Request for transfers or cancellations received prior to 30 days before the first day of camp are assessed a fee of $50 per person per camp. No refunds or transfers are issued for requests received later than 30 days before the start of camp. Camps are not prorated and participant substitutions are not allowed. No refunds are given to campers dismissed from camp for inappropriate behavior.
