Tulsa, Okla. – Georgia Tech All-American Guillermo Gomez failed to get past the round of 16 at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships, falling in three sets Friday morning to Drew Courtney of Virginia.
The senior from Alicante, Spain, seeded fourth in this event and ranked fourth in the country, lost 6-2, 2-6, 6-4, to the 27th-ranked player in the nation. It was Gomez’s first loss of the fall after eight straight victories. He is 93-31 for his career.
