Hawaii Pacific Shutdown Presbyterian College

Waipahu, HI (3/4/09) – At Central Oahu Regional Park, the 7th-ranked HPU men’s tennis team returned from a successful road trip to shutdown Presbyterian College, 8-1. The Sea Warriors improve to 5-1 while the Blue Hose fall to 3-8.

HPU took two of the three doubles matches. Hendrik Bode and Sebastian Bader won 8-6 in one doubles, and Jan Hroch and Daniel Luedi earned the win in two doubles, also 8-6.

Nikola Petrov and Aleksandar Markov fell to Brad Luciuk and Andrew Lee 8-3 in three doubles.

HPU won all three singles matches in straight sets.

#30 Bode topped Matt Martin 6-1, 7-5 in one singles, Bader defeated Michael Nicol 6-2, 6-3 in two singles, and the three singles match went to #39 Luedi who posted a 6-1, 6-3 win over Patrick Fediuk.

Anton Samuilau defeated Zach Sprouse 6-2, 6-0 in four singles, Petrov topped Lee in five singles 6-4, 6-1, and in six singles Markov shutdown Mark Cannatelli, 6-1, 6-0.

HPU return to the court today, March 5 to take on Grand Canyon University in a battle of PacWest schools. Start time is set for 9:00 a.m. at Central Oahu Regional Park.
