Hilo, HI (2/7/10) – For the second time this weekend, the HPU men’s tennis team defeated UH-Hilo.
The HPU men’s team won at love for the first time this season. The fifth-ranked Sea Warriors took all three doubles matches highlighted by Dominic Mclusky and Nikola Petrov’s win at one singles. They defeated Kevin Tamura and Stephen Royalty, 9-7.
In singles play, Petrov again topped Royalty with a 6-4, 6-3 win in one singles. Anton Samuilau collected HPU’s other singles win with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Matthew Tavares in five singles.
The men’s team next travels to California for a four-match road trip. First up is Fresno Pacific University this Friday, February 12. Start time in Azusa, CA is set for 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time.
