Maria is back for her second season with the Owls. Rubert is one of Kennesaw State's rare two-sport athletes after playing on the inaugural women's soccer team. Last season, Rubert was one of the most consistent players for the Owls in both singles and doubles. She compiled a team-best 13-3 record last season for an .813 winning percentage. Rubert played mostly at No. 5 singles last season where she compiled a perfect 8-0 mark. She was also 11-5 in doubles play, teaming primarily with Carolyn Ward in the No. 3 flight.

Maria is the daughter of Francisco and Muiz Juan...her favorite athlete is Roberto Carlos of Real Madrid, although she is a big supporter of Valecia CF...to Maria nothing beats good paella and a Diet Coke...an avid reader, she enjoys the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez...her favorite singer is Celine Dion...her favorite quote is "A hero is that who bends to exhaustion when nobody is watching"...had a 4.0 grade point average this fall...Maria is a History major who is minoring in Political Science...after graduation, she plans on going to law school.
