Laura comes to Kennesaw State after a successful two-year career at national powerhouse, Armstrong Atlantic State. Puch was a key ingredient to the Pirates' success last season after playing at No. 3 singles for the better part of the season. She finished the spring season with a 19-5 record in singles. She began the 2002 season with a year-high seven match winning streak. Defeated Kanae Motohasi of Brenau in the finals of the 2001 Augusta Collegiate Tennis Championships. Laura had a 27-5 doubles record last season.

Laura's parents are Lynne and David Venus...has three siblings, Sarah Jane (21), teammate Elizabeth (18) and a brother Michael (14)...she has a dog named Targa...her favorite athletes are tennis player Leyton Hewitt and Sacramento King standout Chris Webber...Laura loves cheesecake and pizza and her favorite television show is The Real World...tennis is Laura's primary love, but when she isn't playing tennis, she enjoys watching tennis and coaching...her favorite music is hip-hop and rhythm and blues...her two favorite cities are New York and her native Auckland...she is an Exercise and Health Science major.
