Lees-McRae College - Recruiting Info
Dear Women’s Prospect,

Some college tennis programs dream of going to the NCAA Division II National Championships in Tennis…at Lees-McRae we expect it. We’ve made three consecutive trips to Nationals and don’t anticipate letting up. I believe you can help us make the trip again and this is why I am writing you.

Lees-McRae College is a private college located in the Western North Carolina Mountains in Banner Elk. Academically, it is one of the best private colleges in the south. The Bobcats compete in the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC). The CVAC is made up of twelve colleges that fall under the NCAA Division II jurisdiction.

Each year the top teams in the CVAC compete in the National playoffs. Lees-McRae’s 2001-2002 team participated in the NCAA Nationals and had several players receiving All-Region and All-Conference honors. In 2002, Lees-McRae College participated in the National Championship for the 3rd consecutive year.

Highlights of the program include:
2001-2002 CVAC Conference Champions;
1998-2002 CVAC Regular Season Champions;
Final National Ranking – 32nd
One of the best Division II tennis facilities including an indoor complex;
One of eight teams to be recognized as All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Traditionally, the Lees-McRae women’s tennis program has been and will continue to be a dominant force in intercollegiate tennis.  Thank you for your interest in our program and I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Paul Goode Head Tennis Coach
