Men's tennis closes out fall season in Tampa
BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s tennis team will face their final test of the fall season this weekend when they travel to Tampa, Fla., for the University of South Florida Fall Invitational.
Seniors Julien Gauthier and Cody Loup, juniors Tom Knights and David Roberts, and sophomores Olivier Borsos, Stefan Szacinski, James Turbervill and Roger Anderson will take the court for the Tigers at the flighted tournament, which runs Oct. 29-31.
“In every tournament this fall someone has had a breakthrough performance,” LSU head coach Jeff Brown said. “This being our last tournament of the fall, we are hoping for the same thing.”
LSU will compete in both the singles and double brackets. Borsos and Anderson will pair up in the top doubles flight, while Knights and Szacinski will take the court in flight two. In flight three Gauthier and Turbervill will team up, with Loup and Roberts competing in the fourth flight.
The Tigers will square off against opponents from Jacksonville University, Troy, and host South Florida at the USF Varsity Courts.
LSU will take the court Friday at 9 a.m. CT with doubles action and singles to follow throughout the day. The Tigers will begin on Saturday at noon and then close out on Sunday at 8 a.m.
