Cowboys, Cowgirls Remain in ITA Top 30

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State's men's and women's tennis teams each remained in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association top 30 for the eighth-consecutive week this week.
 
The Cowgirls (15-8) are slotted at No. 22 in the women's team rankings, while the Cowboys (21-7) come in at No. 29 on the men's side. The Cowgirls enter tournament play in the top 25 for the first time since 2003, and the Cowboys hold their highest pre-NCAA Tournament mark since 2009.
 
Three Cowboys represent Oklahoma State in the ITA singles rankings this week. Jakob Sude (No. 77), Sebastian Sachs (No. 96) and Arjun Kadhe (No. 116) are the first Cowboy trio to hold simultaneous singles rankings since April 1, 2008, when Oleksandr Nedovyesov, Ivan Puchkarov and Dmytro Petrov all held positions in the poll.
 
Freshman Viktoriya Lushkova represents the Cowgirls in the ITA singles rankings, dropping eight spots to No. 52. Lushkova has notched an impressive 16-4 record in singles play in the No. 1 spot during her first semester at Oklahoma State, earning the freshman a spot in the NCAA Singles Championships. Lushkova will be the first Cowgirl to represent Oklahoma State in the tournament since 2002.
 
The Cowboy duo of Jakob Sude and Arjun Kadhe jumped two spots to No. 14 in this week's ITA doubles rankings. â—¦The Big 12 No. 1 Doubles champions finished the regular season with an 11-1 mark. The tandem will represent Oklahoma State in this year's NCAA Doubles Championships.
 
On the women's side, the Cowgirl tandem of Kanyapat Narattana and Viktoriya Lushkova will enter NCAA Tournament play ranked No. 77.
 
The Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete in the first round of the NCAA Tournament next weekend. The Cowgirls will take on South Florida in Gainesville, Fla., on Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. CT, while the Cowboys will face Michigan in Los Angeles, Calif., on Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m. CT.
