RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Freshman Lorraine Guillermo remains undefeated in singles at the Mission Hills Desert Classic after recording her second win of the weekend this afternoon. Action in the round-robin style tournament concludes tomorrow at the Mission Hills Country Club.

 

Guillermo (Walnut, Calif./Rowland HS) was up 3-0 in the first frame when her opponent, Washington’s Capucine Gregoire, was forced to retire.

 

Yesterday Guillermo topped Alison Ramos of USC in a three set battle, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

 

Arianna Colffer (Corona, Calif./Buena Vista) picked up her first win of the weekend today, topping Anjela Nemcevic of Washington by score of 7-5, 7-5.

 

In doubles, Tara Panu (Los Altos Hills, Calif./The Harker School) and Megan Moore (Portland, Ore./Jesuit HS) were edged 8-6 by UCLA’s Holly Flemming and Morgan Thomas. Guillermo and Colffer fell to Pamela Montez and Carling Seguso, also from UCLA, by the same score.

 

The Waves conclude action at the Mission Hills Desert Classic tomorrow.
