Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center
The Pepperdine men's and women's tennis teams play all of their home dual matches at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.
The nine-court, fully lighted facility was upgraded significantly during the 1992-93 school year, and served as the host site for the 1995 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships, marking the first time an NCAA Championships event was held at Pepperdine. The University hosted the event again in May of 2000. The Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center has also hosted the 1996 NCAA West Regional Championships for women, the 1997 NCAA Region VIII Championships for men, the 1999 NCAA First/Second Round Championships for women, the 2000 NCAA First/Second Round Championships for men and women and the 2002 NCAA First / Second Round Championships for men.
In addition to resurfaced courts and improved the lighting, the refurbished complex includes seating for nearly 2,000 people. The beautifully landscaped facility offers many excellent vantage points for fans, and a large patio overlooks Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool and has a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. During the summer of 1998, the 800-seat Harilela International Grandstand was added to the facility.
The Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center is enhanced by a large lounge which includes food service facilities. The building also houses team meeting and lockerroom facilities plus office space for the men's and women's tennis coaching staffs.
In 27 seasons of play at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center, the Pepperdine men's tennis team has compiled a cumulative home record of 368-53 (.874) while the women's tennis team has notched a cumulative home mark of 298-103 (.743).
